Startupbootcamp in Melbourne Focuses on Smart Energy

Startupbootcamp partnered with EnergyAustralia for a Melbourne-based accelerator program for innovative startups seeking to commercialize smart energy ventures. The program will run for three months from January 2018, with places available for ten startups, who will receive living expenses, hands-on mentorship from industry experts, free office space, seed funding, and access to a global network of investors. Applications are open from now until Friday, 27 October, 2017.

The program is looking for solutions in:

  • Energy Efficiency – better energy use for homes, buildings, and cities;
  • Energy Independence – energy access, clean energy and smart grid technologies; and,
  • Digitization & Analytics – big data, block chain and artificial intelligence to support energy optimization and energy independence.

“Smart Energy is about product, process and business model innovation in a rapidly changing marketplace. The energy industry, which hasn’t drastically innovated in the last two decades, is suddenly seeing 360 degree disruption that is going to change everything in the next 10 years. It’s one thing to know that change is coming and it’s another to know what to do and how to act to stay relevant. At Startupbootcamp, we help our 140 corporate partners around the globe think & act. Our partners here in Melbourne have a strong desire to work with startups locally on global solutions. During the 3 month program and beyond we will work closely alongside the program’s startups and partners to accelerate those kind of meaningful collaborations, ” said Trevor Townsend, managing director.
